On Tuesday, March 20th, 2007 just after 1:00am, J.C. Williams drove a black Chevy Cobalt to South 8th Street where he parked near Sylvan Street. As his passenger got out of the vehicle, a red 4-door Pontiac with tinted windows pulled up next to their car and a black male in his 20s told him to give him something before pulling a gun out and shooting. The passenger ran for cover and when he looked back he saw another black male getting out of the Pontiac and walking up to the Chevy and firing additional shots into the vehicle where Williams was still seated. Williams was fatally struck. J.C. Williams was 43 years old at the time of his death.
