1995-077752 – James Roland

Around 11:00pm on Friday, March 10th, 1995, James Roland and his friend were waiting for a ride outside the apartments located at 2121 26th Avenue when two young black males, wearing hoodies under starter jackets, approached them as one of them pulled out a gun and fired a warning shot. Roland turned to run and his friend hit the ground and complied with their demands. The suspects wanted their starter jackets, shoes, and any other cash or valuables on them. Roland was fatally struck by gunfire as he ran away. James Roland was 13 years old at the time of his death.
