On Thursday, April 28th, 1988 around 3:00am, several people were driving on Charlotte Avenue when they saw a male lying on the ground injured. They drove to a nearby Krystal Restaurant to call for help and then returned to the location to wait for police to arrive. When officers arrived, they found Darryl Eugene Ellison deceased from multiple sharp force injuries near the transit bus bench located on the 1500 block of Charlotte Avenue. Darryl Eugene Ellison was 27 years old at the time of his death.
