On Saturday, November 19th, 1983, a customer entered The License Shack located at 3005 Gallatin Road just before 3:00pm and discovered the owner, James Thomas Walker, lying on the floor of the living quarters in the back of the business. He had been beaten and shot multiple times. There were signs of a possible robbery. James Thomas Walker, also known as “Tommy” was 38 years old at the time of his death.
