At approximately 10:00am on Sunday, August 25th, 1974 officers responded to a call in the alley at the rear of the 303 Gatewood Ave. where they found Janice Ann Armstrong deceased in the back of a lime green 1974 Pinto. She had been strangled. Residents had seen the car parked in the alley since 6:00am the day before, Saturday, August 24th, 1974. It is believed that she was killed between 5:00am when she was last seen and 6:00am when the car was first spotted in the alley. Janice Ann Armstrong was 20 years old at the time of her death.
