Just before 6:00am on Tuesday, May 14th, 1974 officers responded to a call in the alley at the rear of the Baptist Church at 1307 Ireland Street where they found Shirley Ann Shaw deceased on the floor in the back of a green 1974 Cadillac Eldorado. She had suffered multiple stab wounds. Earlier that morning, Shaw and a friend had taken the borrowed car downtown around 1:00am. Shaw dropped her friend off at approximately 2:15am and said she was heading back up to Jefferson St. and she would meet up with her later. Shirley Ann Shaw was 28 years old at the time of her death.
