On the evening of Thursday, July 16th, 1970, a missing person report was called in for Lula Leslie Lovin after not showing up for work that day. When officers went to her residence located at 1800 Blair Boulevard they found Lovin deceased in the basement storeroom at approximately 7:30pm. She had been badly beaten and suffered blunt force traumas. The evening prior, she had hurriedly left a friend’s house to go home for a meeting she said she had set up for 7:00pm regarding Amway products. He was not there when she got home, so she called his residence to confirm the meeting, but apparently it did not happen. Lovin is said to have been attacked Wednesday night, sometime after 7:00pm. Lula Leslie Lovin was 69 years old at the time of her death.
