On Saturday, February 7th, 1970 Joseph Mackey was physically assaulted in his home at 17 Hart St. by two black men with the last names of Alexander and Jackson. These men returned on Sunday and assaulted Mackey again. Mackey went to the hospital on Tuesday and filed a police report on that day, February 10th, 1970. By Thursday Mackey had to return to the hospital due to complications of his injuries and passed away the next day on Friday, February 13th, 1970. Joseph Mackey was 54 years old at the time of his death.
