At around 10:20pm on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 officers were responding to a robbery at the Woodbridge Apartments (now Haven Apartments) on Bridgeway Circle when they were flagged down by the son of Marcos Reyes-Hernandez who had found his father shot in the bed of his truck. Medics transported Reyes-Hernandez to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Marcos-Reyes lived in the complex and was near dumpsters while cleaning out his truck when he was shot. It is believed that this murder is connected to a robbery that had just occurred in the same complex involving a white Toyota Corolla. A white Toyota Corolla had been stolen the previous day during a violent carjacking at the Bordeaux Garden Park on Snell Boulevard and it was later recovered at the Lee Motel at 426 Murfreesboro Pike. Marcos Reyes-Hernandez was 48 years old at the time of his death.
