Just before midnight on Tuesday, June 12th, 2018, officers responded to a report of a shooting at the InTown Suites located at 2823 Murfreesboro Pike. When they arrived they found Dhargham Tawfiq Ateia lying in the doorway of room 239. He had been shot multiple times as he walked from the parking lot to the stairway to get to his second floor room. Ateia was able to tell his brother that the person that shot him was a black male with dreads. He transported to the hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. Dhargham Tawfiq Ateia was 27 years old at the time of his death.
