2017-0246371 – Gitem Demissie

Just after midnight on Sunday, March 19th, 2017, as Gitem Demissie was closing Xbex, an Ethiopian restaurant located at 2525 Murfreesboro Pike, a masked man with a gun entered the restaurant. He approached Gitem Demissie, shot him multiple times, and then fled the scene on foot. The gunman was described as a light skinned male, approximately 5’7” tall with a thin build, wearing a mask, black skinny jeans, a long sleeve black shirt, and black gloves. Demissie was transported to Vanderbilt hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Gitem Demissie was 41 years old at the time of his death.
