At approximately 2:00am on Sunday, September 4th, 2016, Robert Saine and a friend arrived in separate vehicles at the Waffle House at 408 White Bridge Road. As they were talking at their cars, a 4-door light blue vehicle, thought to be a Kia Rio, and a Silver Nissan Altima drove into the parking lot. After Saine’s friend picked up her food, the blue car pulled up next to them and Saine had words with the occupants. After the two suspect cars had pulled out of the parking lot onto the street, they shot from the vehicle at Saine and he was struck by the gunfire. Two patrons of the Waffle House gave aid to Saine as he lay on the ground next to his car, but he would later succumb to his injury. Robert Saine was 36 years old at the time of his death.
