At around 1:30am on Friday, June 19th, 2015, Fidel Stem went looking for a girl he had been dating at her residence at 1600 23rd Avenue. The girl was not there and Stem engaged in an argument with her mother. After she went back in her house and closed the door, she heard gunshots and saw Stem running down the street. Officers responded to a report of shots fired, but did not locate anyone involved at that time. Around 6:30am, a man walked to his vehicle and saw Stem partially laying under his pickup. Stem had suffered multiple gunshot wounds and succumbed to his injuries. Fidel Stem was 23 years old at the time of his death.
