Just before midnight on Thursday, September 10th, 2009, Jack Abel Diamond noticed that a guest of the party he was hosting at 13240 Old Hickory Boulevard was getting robbed by gunpoint outside the back door. He grabbed his own gun and went out back and fired in the air to warn the armed man off. The man returned fire and fatally struck Diamond. The shooter was described as a black male, approximately 6’2”, 200 pounds, dressed in all black, wearing a black ski mask. Jack Abel Diamond was 48 years old at the time of his death.
