On Wednesday, September 2nd, 2009, just after 9:00pm, German Franco went to answer the door of his residence at 205 Ellington Place, in response to loud knocking. He was overheard telling them to go away, however they made their way into the residence. One of the men who entered the residence was described as a black male wearing a gray ski mask. The confrontation with Franco resulted in a fatal gunshot wound which he succumbed to a few hours later at the hospital. German Franco was 58 years old at the time of his death.
