2006-250765 – Freweini Gebremicael

On the morning of Thursday, May 4th, 2006, Freweini “Winnie” Asmelash Gebremicael dropped her daughter off at school at approximately 7:20am and was not seen again. Gebremicael’s sister found her abandoned vehicle at the intersection of Foster Avenue and Whitsett Road and the family filed a missing person report. On Sunday, May 7th, 2006 just before 2:00am an area resident reported a fire near a creek off Whitsett Road. When the fire department responded to 75 Whitsett Road to extinguish the flames, they discovered it was the body of Gebremicael that had been set on fire. The location was less than a half mile from her residence. The medical examiner determined that Gabremicael had died as a result of a gunshot wound. Freweini Asmelash Gebremicael was 34 years old at the time of her death.
