2005-692806 – Derrick Detherage

On Wednesday, December 21st, 2005, just before 9:00pm, Derrick Darrell Detherage was in his friend’s car, a gold 2001 Chevy Monte Carlo, stopped at McGavock Pike at Bronte Avenue for a train passing through. As they were stopped, a vehicle pulled up behind them and a male got out of the car and began shooting as he approached the Monte Carlo. The driver ducked down and was able to turn the vehicle around and drive away to go get help. The driver had been struck with a non-fatal gunshot wound and Detherage had been fatally struck during the shooting. Derrick Darrell Detherage was 26 years old at the time of his death.
