2005-154360 – Alfonso Quijas

On Friday, March 25th, 2005 around 8:00pm, Alfonso Garcia-Quijas and his roommate walked to San Luis Taqueria near Limbar Drive to get something to eat. On their way back home they stopped at a Mapco to get a couple items and then continued on their way back to the Sunrise Apartments located at 3735 Turley Drive. As they approached the complex, they passed a small dark colored vehicle with four Hispanic males standing by it. Shortly after, they heard people coming up behind them and turned around to see three of the males approaching them with guns and telling them to give them all their money. Both Garcia-Quijas and his roommate were sitting on the ground and handed over their wallets and money. Garcia-Quijas was fatally shot and an attempt was made to shoot his roommate. After the shooters left in the small dark colored vehicle, the roommate flagged down help. The two men with the guns were described as approximately 5’7-8” tall, about 170 pounds, and one of them had acne scars on his face. Alfonso Garcia-Quijas was 21 years old at the time of his death.
