Just before 9:00pm on Sunday, December 1st, 2002, Leven Worth Jones was on foot walking toward his house with a couple grocery bags when he was fatally shot in the area of 1607 McEwen Street. Witnesses heard gunshots and saw Jones fall but did not see the shooter. Leven Worth Jones was 46 years old at the time of his death.
