On Wednesday, February 25th, 1998, Chiquita Nicole Brown was at home with her boyfriend in their apartment located at 270 Tampa Drive. Around 4:30am they heard a knock at the door and Brown went to answer the door. When she opened the door a black male grabbed her by the throat and fired his gun at her boyfriend. The boyfriend grabbed his gun and returned fire. Brown was fatally struck during this exchange. Chiquita Nicole Brown was 18 years old at the time of her death.
