On Monday, February 11th, 1991, Fannie Beatrice Newsom’s son-in-law knocked on her door around noon for the third time that day. He was there to check on her welfare after she moved into the new apartment over the weekend located at 2410 Clifton Avenue. On this third attempt, after not receiving an answer, he tried the door knob and found the door unlocked. When he entered the apartment he found Newsom lying injured and unconscious on the bedroom floor. He ran to call for an ambulance and she was transported to the hospital. She had suffered from multiple blunt force traumas. Newsom passed away on January 1st, 1992 as a result of her injuries. Fanny Beatrice Newsom was 72 years old at the time of her death.
