Shortly after 12:00am on Wednesday, June 22nd, 1988, William “Billy” Lee Wade left his house to go meet someone. When he failed to return home, Wade’s wife called his brother to go look for him. He found Wade shortly after 1:00pm in his pickup which was parked across from the abandoned Morgan Manor Apartments located at 1609 4th Avenue South. Responding officers found Wade slumped over in the driver’s seat of his black 1985 Toyota pickup truck. Wade had been shot and was deceased. William “Billy” Lee Wade was 31 years old at the time of his death.
