Shortly before noon on Monday, February 22, 1988, Joseph Dewayne Huddleston was shot on the street near 1601 East Douglas Avenue. A red or maroon car, possibly an Oldsmobile Cutlass, driven by a white male in his early 20s, was seen speeding away from the scene. The car was familiar to the area. Huddleston was transported to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Joseph Dewayne Huddleston was 30 years old at the time of his death.
