1982-153910 – Sammy Stewart

On Monday, August 30th, 1982, Sammy Dean Stewart, Jr. was reported missing by his father after he didn’t show up for work that morning. He was last seen the night before around 11:00pm at a market at the corner of Greenwood Avenue and Porter Road in his car, a silver 1979 Pontiac Grand Prix, with two white males in their twenties; one blonde and the other with dark hair. The car had been found shortly after midnight on August 30th, 1982 at 904 Murfreesboro Road in a field behind the Roundup Restaurant when the fire department responded to the burning vehicle. The death of Stewart was still unknown at that time. Stewart was found deceased the next afternoon, August 31st, 1982, by fishermen at the Four Corners Boat Dock. He had suffered multiple stab wounds. Sammy Dean Stewart, Jr. was 20 years old at the time of his death.
