On Monday, August 28th, 1978, Sheila Marie Greer left around 1:00pm to meet her ex-husband for lunch. She was due home after the lunch meeting, no later than 3:00pm, but never returned. Greer’s mother reported her missing the next morning. Greer was found on Sunday, September 3rd, 1978, in a field near some trees off Old Franklin Road and I-24 by hunters. She had been shot multiple times and is believed to have been killed the day she was last seen, August 28th. Sheila Marie Greer was 30 years old at the time of her death.
