Just after midnight on December 23rd, 1974 Barry Glenn Moore left the barracks at Fort Campbell on approved leave. He was planning on hitchhiking back home to Knoxville, Tennessee. Shortly before 2:00am dispatch received a report of a body lying on the side of I-40 just past the Spence Lane overpass in Nashville. When officers located the body, they found Moore deceased from a gunshot wound. His wallet and IDs had been taken. Barry Glenn Moore was 18 at the time of his death.
