At approximately 8:45pm on Sunday, June 22nd, 1975 neighbors of Fred Gilbert reported to officers that they had found him lying in his bathroom unresponsive. Officers went to Gilbert’s apartment located at 1037 18th Avenue North and determined that he was deceased. He had been strangled. Earlier in the night, around 5:00pm, a report of a burglary at Gilbert’s address was made. Fred Gilbert was 35 years old at the time of his death.
