At approximately 8:30am on Friday, October 24th, 1969, a 4 year old neighbor boy found Josephine Duncan lying on the living room floor of her residence at 816 Overton Street. The boy went home and told his grandmother who called the police. Duncan had been raped and suffered severe blunt force trauma. Josephine Duncan was 73 years old at the time of her death.
