On Thursday, August 13, 2020, at 3:22 PM, Robert Coughlin called 911 and reported he had been shot by 2 black males at his house on Shelby Ave. Officers found Robert lying on the fire escape unresponsive. Robert was taken by ambulance to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased. Robert was 23-years-old.
The motive for the shooting was believed to be robbery. Evidence inside the house indicated Robert fought with his assailants before being shot. It is believed Robert knew who his assailants were. The suspects fled in a silver Mercedes parked on Sylvan St.
