Just before midnight on Wednesday, June 19th, 2019 Eric Bell, Jr. was sitting in a red 2012 Chevrolet Cruz in the parking lot of the Point Breeze Apartments located at 488 Lemont Drive when he was shot. Two black males, described as being in their early 20s, were seen approaching the vehicle, shooting Bell and then fleeing on foot. Bell attempted to pull out of the parking spot and drive away, but due to his injuries, he struck multiple vehicles during his attempt before coming to a stop. Eric Bell, Jr. was 31 years old at the time of his death.
