Shortly before 2:00am on Monday, June 19, 2017, officers responded to gunshots and found William Hunter Drake on the ground at 24 Lafayette Street suffering from a gunshot wound. The officers witnessed two black males running from the area as they approached. Drake was transported to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. William Hunter Drake was 26 years old at the time of his death.
