At approximately 10:00pm, on Friday, December 2nd, 2016, officers responded to 601 N. DuPont Ave. on a report of shots fired. Upon arriving, they found Hoigo Jajolon Lyles lying on the ground at the end of apartment building D with a fatal gunshot wound. Lyles had been dropped off at the apartment complex after work. Hoigo Lyles was 18 years old at the time of his death.
