At approximately 7:30pm on Thursday, May 19th, 2016, officers responded to a report of a shooting at Plus Parks Blvd. and Pavilion Drive. A man had approached Vicente Rodriguez and reportedly said, “Do you remember me?” before shooting Rodriguez multiple times. The man then got in a gold sedan similar to a Nissan Maxima or Toyota Camry and drove away. The shooter was described as a black man in his 30s wearing a tan Carhartt type jacket. Several people attempted to render aid to Rodriguez, but he ultimately succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Vicente Rodriguez was 58 years old at the time of his death.
