Just before midnight on Friday, September 19, 2014, a white Dodge minivan and a silver Nissan sedan drove down 41st Avenue and opened fire on a group of four people standing on the sidewalk. Michael Allen and three others were standing outside his residence at 612 41st Ave. when he was struck by the gunfire. The other three people quickly went to the ground and avoided being struck. Allen survived for six days before succumbing to his injury. Michael J. Allen was 39 at the time of his death.
