At approximately 1:00am on Sunday, September 5th, 2010, Lamar Hughes was standing with family and friends outside his aunt’s home at the Edgehill Homes located at 1210 14th Ave. South when a man got out of a black SUV and approached Hughes from behind. The man knocked him to the ground as he pulled out a gun and shot at Hughes multiple times. Hughes was struck and ran to his aunt’s house where he collapsed. Lamar Hughes was 16 years old at the time of his death.
