2010-277876 – Marquis Wilkerson

Around 7:30pm on Tuesday, March 23rd, 2010, Marquis Wilkerson and his friends were playing football at the intersection of 10th Avenue N. and Coffee Street when they heard gunshots and scattered in an attempt to run for cover. Wilkerson was fatally struck by the gunfire. There were reports of a man standing at the alley that runs parallel to Coffee Street between 9th Avenue North and 10th Avenue North and shooting in the direction of where the boys were playing ball. He was described as a black male with an afro dressed in all black who arrived at the location through the alley in a gray or brown SUV. Marquis Wilkerson was 20 years old at the time of his death.
