On Thursday, July 9th, 2009 around 10:00am, a member of Rebecca Blackwell Pruitt’s family went to her residence at 5054 Bull Run Road to check on her welfare after she did not answer the phone. They, along with a neighbor, entered the residence and found Pruitt lying deceased on the bedroom floor. She had died as a result of strangulation. Pruitt was last been seen by neighbors in her yard the evening before around 8:00pm. Rebecca Blackwell Pruitt was 58 years old at the time of her death.
