At approximately 3:00pm on Friday July 4th, 2008, Darsean Eugene Campbell was riding in the passenger seat of a 4-door silver 2001 Pontiac Grand Am with two other males when a red car pulled up next to them and began shooting. Campbell was fatally shot and the driver received a non-fatal gunshot injury before he ducked down and hit the gas to attempt to get distance from the shooters which resulted in the car hitting a power pole and coming to a stop at a stone wall. The two other males were able to get out of the car, jump the stone wall and take cover in the cemetery on the other side until police arrived. The second passenger was not struck by gunfire but sustained injuries from the vehicle accident. Darsean Eugene Campbell was 24 years old at the time of his death.
