On Saturday, December 8th, 2007 at approximately 5:00pm, Lewis Deonsimo Finney was discovered lying wounded on Mt. View Road near Mt. View Circle. Citizens provided aid until the ambulance arrived to take over. It was originally believed that Finney had been the victim of a traffic accident, but it was discovered at the hospital that Finney had suffered a gunshot wound. Just prior to getting shot, Finney had received a ride to the Dailey’s Shell station located at Old Hickory Blvd and I-24 to meet a guy that went by “Reggie.” Finney got into a maroon 4-door vehicle occupied by three black males. The two passengers were described as possibly brothers in their 20s, dark complexions, heavyset, and short hair and the driver was described as a black male in his 30s with light facial hair. The car took off with Finney still in the car and that was the last time he was seen alive. Lewis Deonsimo Finney was 21 years old at the time of his death.
