On the morning of Wednesday, December 24th, 1997 just before 6:00am, Douglas Eugene Pinkston was throwing dice with a couple friends at his residence located at 622 North 9th Street when there was a knock at the door. Pinkston left the two males to go answer the door. As soon as he opened the door, Pinkston was fatally shot multiple times. Douglas Eugene Pinkston was 20 years old at the time of his death.
