1997-277903 – Royce Boykin

On Monday, June 30th, 1997 at approximately 4:30am, officers responded to a vehicle accident at 2721 Clarksville Pike where a 1987 Buick Riviera had crashed into a tree in the front of Mrs. Winner’s chicken restaurant. When they arrived, they discovered the driver of the Buick, Royce Boykin, deceased in the driver’s seat. It was discovered that Boykin had been shot several times in the area of 2430 26th Avenue North before getting back in his vehicle and attempting to drive away. As Boykin’s vehicle entered Clarksville Pike, it struck a passing vehicle before crossing the road and coming to a stop at Mrs. Winner’s. Royce Boykin was 37 years old at the time of his death.
