Just before 10:00am on the morning of Thursday, June 12th, 1997, two brothers were walking down the alley behind 1912 9th Avenue North when they came upon a 4-door gray 1995 Mazda Millenia that appeared to have two injured black males in the front seats of the car. They immediately went to a nearby phone to call 911. Donald Lamont Williams was in the driver’s seat and his twin brother Ronald Lamont Williams was in the passenger seat. They had both been fatally shot and were slumped toward each other in the front seats of the car. It is possible the shooter had been sitting in the back seat of the car. Donald Lamont Williams was 24 years old at the time of his death.
