On Sunday, March 23rd, 1997, just past 7:00pm, Tyrone Lamont Ferby was driving a 1994 2-door Toyota with two passengers on Old Matthews Road at Troy Court when a white Cadillac passed them, made a U-turn and drove back toward them. As the two vehicles passed each other, multiple gunshots came from the Cadillac and Ferby was struck causing him to slump over in the driver’s seat. The Toyota continued down the road until it came to a stop when it struck the house at 2161 Old Matthews Road. Ferby succumbed to his gunshot wounds shortly after arriving at the hospital. Tyrone Lamont Ferby was 22 years old at the time of his death.
