Just after midnight on Wednesday, July 28th, 1993, an officer was called to 10th Avenue North and Jefferson Street on a report of a shooting. When he arrived, he found Frank Newsome lying on the ground suffering from a gunshot wound. Before he lost consciousness, Newsome was able to speak and described two shooters. He was transported to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Frank Newsome was 29 years old at the time of his death.
