On Wednesday, July 15th, 1992, just before 10:00pm, a resident of 3001 Stokers Lane heard gunfire. When they looked outside, they saw a small to midsize grey car speed away from across the street in the direction of Buena Vista Pike. They then went out to the street and found Larry Eugene Harris lying in the ditch next to the road suffering from gunshot wounds. They called the police and ambulance. Harris succumbed to his wounds at the hospital. Harris had been released from Metro Jail earlier that day and had last been seen by his nephew at the Dairy Dip on Dickerson Pike shortly before his death. Larry Eugene Harris was 33 years old at the time of his death.
