Just before 6:00am on Saturday, March 28th, 1992 Cleophas Mabone, Jr. was discovered lying near his running vehicle, a brown 4-door 1978 Datsun, in the parking lot of the Old Charlotte Pike Church of Christ located at 7404 Old Charlotte Pike. Mabone had been shot multiple times and had succumbed to his injuries prior to discovery. Cleophas Mabone, Jr. was 26 years old at the time of his death.
