At approximately 3:00pm on Thursday, December 17th, 1981 officers found McLean submerged in Richland Creek. McLean was a student at the Nashville Technical School on White Bridge Road and was last seen on Wednesday, December 16th, 1981 at 6:30am by the janitor of the school who had let her into the building. She was found in the water around 4:00pm that evening by some kids playing along the creek but they first thought it was a mannequin and it wasn’t until they returned the next day that they realized it was a person and went to call the police. McLean was last seen with a black male described as being approximately 5’11” and stocky. Jhanna Yvette McLean was 20 years old at the time of her death.
