On Tuesday, November 16th, 1976 at approximately 11:00am police received a report of a body in a car that was parked in the alley behind 1009 Joseph Avenue. When officers arrived, they found the body of Wanda Baker on the floor in the back seat of her light blue 1976 Ford Granada. Her throat had been cut. A resident of the neighborhood saw the car pull up the alley sometime between 5-5:30am and saw two men wearing blue get out and quickly walk away. Wanda Baker was 23 years old at the time of her death.
