Shortly before 8:00am on Monday, May 24th, 1971, Mal James Harris was found submerged and unresponsive in the bathtub of her residence at 2100 Alameda Street. A close friend who was called to the house drained the tub and attempted CPR. It was later determined that Harris had died of asphyxiation due to strangulation. Mal James Harris was 42 years old at the time of her death.
