1970-108932 – Clarence Bratton

In the early morning hours of Thursday, September 24th, 1970, Clarence Bratton was shot multiple times. He made it from the dirt road to Clear Water Lake where he sat down and succumbed to his injuries. Clear Water Lake is off the Cumberland River in the area of the Tennessee Prison for Women. Bratton was discovered later that day by citizens. When officers arrived, they found Bratton sitting upright in the water against the bank. Bratton was last seen riding in a 1970 Chevy rental car with a black top and a blue bottom the prior evening. Clarence Bratton was 52 years old at the time of his death.
